Editorial Standards & Disclosures

These standards guide SavePoint Codex’s reviews, magazine journalism, and editorials across the Xbox console and Xbox PC ecosystem.

Accuracy and sources

Accuracy comes before speed. We support factual reporting with credible sources and links, favoring primary evidence where available. We distinguish verified information from interpretation, unresolved claims, and clearly labeled rumors. We do not present speculation as established fact.

Reviews

Our reviews are informed opinions supported by a consistent weighted evaluation framework. The internal worksheet helps us apply comparable criteria; published reviews present the final score and the reasoning behind it. We explain the platform, relevant testing conditions, progress, and limitations. We do not claim gameplay experience or firsthand reporting that we have not conducted.

Opinion and balanced reporting

Editorials are clearly labeled as opinion or analysis. Arguments should accurately represent evidence and distinguish interpretation from reporting. We cover newsworthy positive and negative developments without clickbait, rage bait, gossip, manufactured controversy, or forced positive or negative conclusions.

Review copies and material relationships

When a publisher or another organization supplies a game, hardware, travel, payment, or another benefit relevant to our coverage, we explain that relationship clearly in the affected content. Where a disclosure is needed in a video, we include it in the video itself. Receiving access or a review copy does not guarantee coverage or a favorable score.

Advertising and affiliate links

If we publish sponsored content, we identify the sponsorship. If a recommendation includes a link through which we can earn a commission, we explain that relationship prominently near the recommendation or link. A general statement on this page does not replace a disclosure in the affected content. Editorial judgments and review scores are not offered for purchase.

Attribution and corrections

We credit reporting, interviews, quotations, artwork, and screenshots appropriately. We correct material factual errors and explain substantive corrections. To report an error, use the private contact form on our About page and identify the article, issue, or video concerned.

AI assistance and editorial responsibility

AI assists research, drafting, editing, and production. Human editorial review and approval are required before publication. The editor remains responsible for verifying factual claims, assessing sources, and approving the final wording. We do not use AI assistance to invent sources, interviews, quotations, or firsthand experience.
